CD Releases for Lavel
2 - 8
“A CHANGED MAN” CD was released in 2001 right before the terrorist attacks in New York and Washington DC. This was Lavel’s first CD release as a soloist. These songs were inspired by reoccurring dreams and images that Lavel had been having since high school. He believed he would write and produce other Christian and Gospel recording artist, but soon realized that the songs were given to him by God for him to record and use for ministry.
“THE CHRISTMAS ALBUM” was released in 2004. Lavel always wanted to record a Christmas project, because he believes Christmas music will last a lifetime.
“HIP HOP HYMNS” was released in 2005 with his friends Disciples Indeed. Lavel was doing youth concerts for church and other youth organizations and wanted to record a project that young people would like. Working with disciples Indeed gave Lavel the opportunity to perform at many youth events and expose his ministry to thousands of youth.
“HIS WAY” was released in 2007. Inspired by a stage play Lavel was writing about a young man who was being pulled in the direction of the streets and also struggling with his beliefs in the ways of the church.
“MELODIES FROM HEAVEN” was released in 2003 inspired by the events of Sept. 11th 2011. Each song started as melody that was given during a concert or ministry event. Lavel wrote words to melodies and the CD was born.
“SONGS” released in 2013 is a collection of songs that have special meaning to Lavel. Unlike Lavel’s previous releases where Lavel’s writing skills were displayed, “Songs” feature Lavel’s falsetto vocals skills and production.
“Sweet Soul Music” was written in 1995, however Lavel didn’t record this project until 2009. “I feel that more people need to hear my music”. That statement is what lead to Lavel actually recording this project. These songs were actually written with the idea that recording artist like B.B King or Larry McCray might record them.
“WATCHING OVER ME” was written in 2010 but released officially in 2013. He wrote the project for a Christian rock band but the project never happened and the songs were too good not to be heard. So enjoy…
